Power of The Mind.

I love cliche sayings and one of my favorites is “A mind is a terrible thing to waste”. We underestimate the power of our brain and how incredible we could be with a healthy brain. Our mind controls how we view the world and more importantly how we view ourselves. A soiled mind can cause hatred, jealousy, or any other negative force in the world that will not benefit us in a great way. If we can change our mindset we can be better as people but it takes an individual to make this choice for themselves.

Some people are so used to being negative they get enjoyment from it and want people around them to be just as negative. The mind is so powerful that if you are in a space with negative minds it will spread to us if our brain isn’t strong and positive. Another persons negativity can destroy our mind if we don’t constantly think positive and believe in ourselves. Our brain could hold us back from being phenomenal because we are used to being around average people. If we just read or watch people be average our brain will assume that is the way to live. I am strong believer in studying the “greats”. No matter what we want to be in life their is a person who did it before us and laid down a blueprint on how to be successful at it. The best part is that there are multiple greats from different generations to study and combine what we have learned. For instance in basketball we could study the mindsets of a Kobe Bryant, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, LeBron James, or Michael Jordan. There are many people to just study their habits and adapt them to your lifestyle. This is how we can keep our brains healthy. Always feed the brain with excellence so we can be the best we can possibly be. Great people have a different outlook on life and 99% of the time it is different than the general way of thinking and average people will disagree with it.

This is not an easy thing to accomplish because there is so much negativity in the world and a lot of negative people but repeatedly feeding our brains with positivity and excellence over a period of time our brains will be impenetrable. Create our own visions of success and excellence and don’t believe anybody that tells us we cannot accomplish it because they could not. Thank you.

  1. Great thoughts and I agree. Very well written and thought out.
Just don’t cut yourself short by only looking at black, male, athletes. I’m sure if you asked these men, Kobe Bryant, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, LeBron James, or Michael Jordan, who all influenced them and who their role models were, there would be a great variety of people.
